About the Author
My name is Jason Dean, and I am a journalist and technology geek that resides in Southern Wisconsin. I earned my masters from the University of Wisconsin in journalism, but have been coding since the mid-90’s. Before moving to Madison for school I lived in Milwaukee for close to a decade. I write for Dane101.com – a local news site in Madison.
In early 2008, the newspaper I was an intern at The Capital Times newspaper in Madison Wisconsin. When the newspaper announced it was dropping its print publication to become a web publication, I wrote an article suggesting what changes they needed to make to succeed. After reading it, my editor asked me to join the transition team, and I accepted. This cemented my love for digital journalism and the changes that were ahead for the industry.
The future of journalism is exciting, and I look forward to helping it successfully adapt in a new era. This website is only the beginning. I am available for consulting and currently for hire. You can contact me at jd [at] mucktech.com, or follow me on twitter at @The_Dean.
